The Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography is located in Baku’s old city and features two exhibitions: an ethnography section displaying materials from the 19th century and 20th century showing the life of Azerbaijani people, and an archaeology section with items covering various aspects of Azerbaijanis history and culture from ancient times till the late Middle Ages. The elegant building itself is worth admiring - called Chained House, it was built in the early 20th century and belonged to a wealthy merchant, Haji Mammadhuseyn Mammadov.   • The little and free museum is well done but has no "beautiful objects" and is clearly aimed at history teachers and people VERY interested in archeology. I'm not one of them.  more »
  • This museum is located near the double gates of Icheri Sheher. It was built in a building called the House of Chains. The museum has two sections. One sections covers Azerbaijan’s history from Stone.....  more »
  • Honestly there is no option to give your management less than a one star! The museum was under construction during the UNESCO WHC Baku 2019!!! O Boy!! Honestly, there would be no chance for people to back just to see Baku Archaeological Museum again! You missed it!
