Watch oil money transform a neighborhood at Oil Boom Architecture in Downtown Baku, one of the first boom towns in the world. Observe nodding oil donkeys and mini offshore oil rigs. Take a walk among and watch offshore oil platforms in the distance at the Caspian Sea. In the town, rich beaux-arts architecture with elaborate mortar plastic on the facades, art and history museums, and opulent mansions of pre-revolutionary millionaires testify to the wealth of oil producers who started the boom about a century ago. Along the canals closer to the lakeshore, there are plenty of cafes and a long jetty. Inspirock's itinerary builder makes planning a Baku trip simple and quick.
