#3 of 38 in Parks in Azerbaijan
Fountain · Hidden Gem · Park
Featuring a classy marble arch and a French-style Baroque fountain, the park slopes down to the Caspian Sea from the elegant Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall, built in 1912 in Italian Renaissance and German Rococo styles with a few nods to oriental elements. Constantly bustling with activity, you can observe walkers, joggers, land overs sitting on benches, and camera crews making commercials in the park's scenic setting. Enjoy the abundance of leafy trees while humming along to the tunes coming out of the nearby philharmonic building. • The park was established beginning in 1830; ship's captains coming from Iran were asked to bring a sack of soil to add to it. Over time the park full of trees established here in the sandy part of the city. Later, trees had brought here from Italy, Turkey and Lankaran. Mulberry, pine tree, acacia, and rose bushes planted here. In fact, we’re lucky that we are able to see the park closely. If we came here 110 years ago we wouldn’t come inside. Because when the concert hall was built, it also worked as Casino and only oil barons, millionaires and wealthy governors allowed to come here.
  • One of the loveliest places of Baku. Located next to Old town, the place where you can feel peaceful and young
