Lahij is a very charming mountain village in northern Azerbaijan that has long been famous for its crafts making, especially coppersmithing. But in the past it was also home to jewelers, blacksmiths, leather craftsmen, carpenters, carpet makers, shoemakers, and sock weavers. You can discover this crafts heritage on the central street which is home to workshops and shops selling souvenirs and handicrafts. It also has interesting architecture, with many centuries-old stone houses designed to withstand frequent earthquakes and between them narrow cobbled alleys. The residents are also a unique people with their own culture and language.
