Muscat, Oman to Baku is an approximately 9-hour flight. Prepare for cooler weather when traveling from Muscat in December: high temperatures in Baku hover around 10°C and lows are around 3°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Sun) early enough to travel to Ganja.

A Young Spirit Located in an Ancient Land

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
Spend the 7th (Mon) exploring at Lake Goygol. There's much more to do: explore the activities along Maralgol lake, take in the architecture and atmosphere at The Alexander Nevsky Church, make a trip to Nizami Ganjavi Mausoleum, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Imamzadeh Mausoleum.

Fly from Baku to Ganja in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. Traveling from Baku in December, Ganja is a bit cooler at night with lows of 0°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Wed) to allow time to take a train to Gobustan.

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
On the 10th (Thu), get a new perspective on nature at Gobustan State Reserve.
