Dubai, United Arab Emirates to Baku is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also fly; or drive. When traveling from Dubai in July, plan for much colder days in Baku, with highs around 36°C, while nights are slightly colder with lows around 26°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 19th (Tue) so you can go by car to Gobustan.

Gobustan — 2 nights

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
On the 20th (Wed), examine the collection at Gobustan State Reserve and then don't miss a visit to Mud Volcanoes. Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate the long history of Diri Baba Mausoleum.

You can drive from Baku to Gobustan in 1.5 hours. Another option is to take a train. In July in Gobustan, expect temperatures between 36°C during the day and 26°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Thu) so you can fly back home.
