Gobustan — 2 nights

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Start off your visit on the 18th (Sat): don't miss a visit to Mud Volcanoes and then see the interesting displays at Gobustan State Reserve.

Traveling by car from Baku to Gobustan takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train. In June, plan for daily highs up to 33°C, and evening lows to 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Sun) to allow time to travel back home.
