The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Explore Baku's surroundings by going to Gobustan (Gobustan State Reserve & Mud Volcanoes). There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at Heydar Aliyev Center, take in the dramatic natural features at Yanardag, steep yourself in history at Baku Old City, and explore the different monuments and memorials at Alley of Martyrs.

Plan my Baku trip by asking Inpirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

June in Baku sees daily highs of 33°C and lows of 22°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.

Land of Fire
A holiday in Azerbaijan allows intrepid travelers to discover a history-steeped country sitting at the crossroads of Southeastern Europe and Southwest Asia, an area once controlled by a succession of ancient empires. With its dual Eurasian character, Azerbaijan remains a highly intriguing destination, with tourism one of the top contributors to the country's booming economy. Many begin their tour of Azerbaijan in World Heritage-listed Baku, a cosmopolitan city boasting innovative architecture and a well-preserved historic core. A short drive out of this thriving capital, you can explore timeless villages surrounded by thick orchards and flanked by the majestic Caucasus Mountains.
