A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Get a sense of the local culture at Baku Old City and Nizami Street/Torgovaya. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Ateshgah Fire Temple and Alley of Martyrs. Dedicate the 7th (Sat) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. Next up on the itinerary: examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, learn more about the world around you at Qala Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum Complex, make a trip to Baku Boulevard, and pause for some photo ops at Sculpture Girl on Bench.

Dammam, Saudi Arabia to Baku is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive. The time zone difference when traveling from Dammam to Baku is 1 hour. Expect cooler weather when traveling from Dammam in August: highs in Baku hover around 38°C, while lows dip to 26°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Sun) early enough to fly to Ganja.

A Young Spirit Located in an Ancient Land

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Mon): explore the activities along Maralgol lake and then explore the activities along Lake Goygol. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 10th (Tue): browse the different shops at Ganja Mall and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Imamzadeh Mausoleum.

Getting from Baku to Ganja by flight takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: take a train; or drive. In August in Ganja, expect temperatures between 39°C during the day and 25°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Tue) so you can go by car to Gabala.
