Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
Visit Imamzadeh Mausoleum and Ganja State Puppet Theatre for their historical value. Get outdoors at Lake Goygol and Maralgol lake. Go for a jaunt from Ganja to Goygol to see St. John's Church about 36 minutes away. There's much more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at The Alexander Nevsky Church, make a trip to Nizami Ganjavi Mausoleum, admire the striking features of Bottle House, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Shah Abbas Mosque.

Male, Maldives to Ganja is an approximately 16.5-hour combination of ferry, flight, and train. You can also do a combination of ferry and flight. You'll gain 1 hour traveling from Male to Ganja due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Male in September, things will get slightly colder in Ganja: highs are around 32°C and lows about 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Fri) to allow enough time to fly to Baku.
