Sheki is Azerbaijan’s true travel gem, a small city off the forested slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains rich in Silk Road history and renowned for its fascinating architecture, food, and friendly residents.
Start off your visit on the 27th (Sat): admire the masterpieces at Museum of Folk and Applied Arts, then admire the landmark architecture of Sheki Khans' Palace, and then make a trip to Sheki Fortress. Keep things going the next day: pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Kish and then experience rural life at Bio Garden.

Traveling by car from Gabala to Sheki takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In November, plan for daily highs up to 13°C, and evening lows to 5°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Mon) to allow time to drive to Baku.

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Take a break from Baku with a short trip to Gobustan State Reserve in Gobustan, about 1h 5 min away. There's much more to do: go for a walk through Baku Boulevard, don't miss a visit to Flame Towers, see the interesting displays at Heydar Aliyev Center, and delve into the distant past at Ateshgah Fire Temple.
