If you're fed up of the concrete jungle, take a trip to Gabala for the perfect getaway.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Mon): ski along the peaceful trails at Tufandag Winter Summer Resort, then learn about winemaking at Savalan ASPI Winery, and then engage your brain at Gabala Archaeological Center. On the next day, get in on the family fun at Gabaland, then get your game on at Gabala Shooting Club, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Nohur Lake.

Drive from Baku to Gabala in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and taxi. Traveling from Baku in November, plan for little chillier nights in Gabala, with lows around 3°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 3rd (Tue) early enough to go by car to Sheki.

Sheki is Azerbaijan’s true travel gem, a small city off the forested slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains rich in Silk Road history and renowned for its fascinating architecture, food, and friendly residents.
On the 4th (Wed), pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Kish, admire the landmark architecture of Winter Palace, then get engrossed in the history at Sheki Khans' Palace, and finally make a trip to Sheki Fortress.

You can drive from Gabala to Sheki in 1.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. In November, daytime highs in Sheki are 13°C, while nighttime lows are 5°C. On the 5th (Thu), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
