A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Head to Ali Shamsi Studio and Nizami Street/Torgovayafor plenty of shopping. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Dreamland Golf Club and Museum of Miniature Books. Dedicate the 26th (Sun) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's lots more to do: buy something for everyone on your list at Park Bulvar Baku, go for a walk through Baku Boulevard, get a new perspective on nature at Qala Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum Complex, and appreciate the history behind Sculpture Girl on Bench.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to Baku is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Riyadh to Baku. Prepare for much colder weather when traveling from Riyadh in June: high temperatures in Baku hover around 33°C and lows are around 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 28th (Tue) early enough to drive to Gabala.

Gabala — 2 nights

If you're fed up of the concrete jungle, take a trip to Gabala for the perfect getaway.
Start off your visit on the 29th (Wed): admire the sheer force of Seven Beauties Waterfall, admire the sheer force of Yeddi Gozel Waterfall, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Tufandag Winter Summer Resort. On the 30th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the spiritual surroundings of Gabala City Mosque and then explore the activities along Nohur Lake.

You can drive from Baku to Gabala in 3.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus; or do a combination of train and taxi. Traveling from Baku in June, Gabala is little chillier at night with lows of 19°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 30th (Thu) so you can go by car to Guba.

Sheki is Azerbaijan’s true travel gem, a small city off the forested slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains rich in Silk Road history and renowned for its fascinating architecture, food, and friendly residents.
On the 2nd (Sat), admire the striking features of Winter Palace, then admire the striking features of Sheki Khans' Palace, and then don't miss a visit to Sheki Fortress. Keep things going the next day: look for gifts at Aliovsat Sweets House and then pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Kish.
