A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Baku Old City and Yanardag are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Escape the urban bustle at Gobustan State Reserve and Lake Masazir. When in Baku, make a side trip to see Candy Cane Mountains in Khizi, approximately Khizi away. The adventure continues: examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, stroll the grounds of Alley of Martyrs, take in the spiritual surroundings of Heydar Mosque, and take in panoramic vistas at Flame Towers.
