A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Baku is known for historic sites, museums, and shopping. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, go for a walk through Baku Boulevard, make a trip to Fountains Square, and delve into the distant past at Ateshgah Fire Temple.

A Young Spirit Located in an Ancient Land

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
Kick off your visit on the 25th (Fri): explore the activities along Lake Goygol. On the next day, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Imamzadeh Mausoleum, then contemplate the waterfront views at Maralgol lake, and then stroll through Heydar Aliyev Park.

You can fly from Baku to Ganja in 2.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or drive. In June in Ganja, expect temperatures between 35°C during the day and 22°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Sheki.

Sheki is Azerbaijan’s true travel gem, a small city off the forested slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains rich in Silk Road history and renowned for its fascinating architecture, food, and friendly residents.
On the 27th (Sun), don't miss a visit to Sheki Fortress, admire the landmark architecture of Sheki Khans' Palace, then don't miss a visit to Sheki Karvansaray, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of Kish.

Drive from Ganja to Sheki in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train. In June, daytime highs in Sheki are 34°C, while nighttime lows are 20°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 27th (Sun) so you can go by car to Gobustan.

Gobustan

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Start off your visit on the 28th (Mon): steep yourself in history at Diri Baba Mausoleum and then don't miss a visit to Mud Volcanoes. Keep things going the next day: examine the collection at Gobustan State Reserve.
