Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Start off your visit on the 7th (Sun): get a new perspective on nature at Gobustan State Reserve. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 8th (Mon): don't miss a visit to Mud Volcanoes and then steep yourself in history at Diri Baba Mausoleum.

Drive from Baku to Gobustan in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train. In March, plan for daily highs up to 13°C, and evening lows to 5°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Mon) to allow time to drive to Gabala.

If you're fed up of the concrete jungle, take a trip to Gabala for the perfect getaway.
On the 9th (Tue), get curious at Gabala Archaeological Center, then do a tasting at Savalan ASPI Winery, and then fly down the slopes at Tufandag Winter Summer Resort.

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
Spend the 10th (Wed) exploring at Lake Goygol. And it doesn't end there: contemplate the waterfront views at Maralgol lake, don't miss a visit to Bottle House, pause for some serene contemplation at Ganja State Puppet Theatre, and stroll around Heydar Aliyev Park.
