A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Family-friendly places like Baku Old City and Baku Boulevard will thrill your kids. Change things up with a short trip to Gobustan State Reserve in Gobustan (about 1h 5 min away). There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at Heydar Aliyev Center, make a trip to Fountains Square, tour the pleasant surroundings at Yanardag, and stroll around Highland Park.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to Baku is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Riyadh to Baku. Expect slightly colder temperatures when traveling from Riyadh in July; daily highs in Baku reach 36°C and lows reach 26°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Gabala.

If you're fed up of the concrete jungle, take a trip to Gabala for the perfect getaway.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Tufandag Winter Summer Resort and Chukhur Gabala. There's still lots to do: find something for the whole family at Gabaland, examine the collection at Gabala Archaeological Center, and contemplate the waterfront views at Nohur Lake.
