Ganja — 3 nights

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Imamzadeh Mausoleum and Shah Abbas Mosque. Get in touch with nature at Lake Goygol and Maralgol lake. When in Ganja, make a side trip to see St. John's Church in Goygol, approximately Goygol away. It doesn't end there: buy something for everyone on your list at Ganja Mall and pause for some serene contemplation at The Alexander Nevsky Church.

Gobustan — 2 nights

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
On the 5th (Thu), get a new perspective on nature at Gobustan State Reserve. Keep things going the next day: don't miss a visit to Mud Volcanoes and then make a trip to Diri Baba Mausoleum.
