National Museum of History of Azerbaijan and Ali Shamsi Studio will appeal to museum buffs. Head to Nizami Street/Torgovaya and Ganja Mallfor plenty of shopping. Ganja — 3 nights

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
You'll explore and learn at Nizami Ganjavi Museum and The Museum of History and Ethnography. Step off the beaten path and head to Lake Goygol and Sharg Ulduzu Wines. It doesn't end there: browse the different shops at Ganja Mall and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Ganja State Puppet Theatre.

Traveling by car from Gabala to Ganja takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and train. In March, daytime highs in Ganja are 16°C, while nighttime lows are 5°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Sun) early enough to take a train to Gobustan.

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Mon): make a trip to Diri Baba Mausoleum and then learn more about the world around you at Gobustan State Reserve.
