Sheki is Azerbaijan’s true travel gem, a small city off the forested slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains rich in Silk Road history and renowned for its fascinating architecture, food, and friendly residents.
Start off your visit on the 18th (Sat): admire the masterpieces at Museum of Folk and Applied Arts, then admire the striking features of Sheki Khans' Palace, and then make a trip to Sheki Fortress. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Kish and then admire the landmark architecture of Winter Palace.

Drive from Baku to Sheki in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and taxi; or take a train. June in Sheki sees daily highs of 34°C and lows of 20°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Sun) so you can drive to Gabala.
