The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Step off the beaten path and head to Ali Shamsi Studio and Park Bulvar Baku. Shop till you drop at Nizami Street/Torgovaya and Ganja Mall. There's still lots to do: admire the local landmark of Philharmonic Park, go for a walk through Baku Boulevard, take in the spiritual surroundings of Heydar Mosque, and examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center.

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Baku is an approximately 9.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Jeddah to Baku. Expect little chillier temperatures when traveling from Jeddah in July; daily highs in Baku reach 36°C and lows reach 26°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 24th (Sat) early enough to drive to Gobustan.

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
On the 25th (Sun), don't miss a visit to Mud Volcanoes and then learn more about the world around you at Gobustan State Reserve.

Traveling by car from Gobustan to Gabala takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and taxi. Traveling from Gobustan in July, plan for slightly colder nights in Gabala, with lows around 21°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Mon) so you can drive to Sheki.

Azerbaijan's True Historical Gem

Sheki is Azerbaijan’s true travel gem, a small city off the forested slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains rich in Silk Road history and renowned for its fascinating architecture, food, and friendly residents.
Kick off your visit on the 27th (Tue): admire the striking features of Sheki Karvansaray, then make a trip to Sheki Fortress, then admire the landmark architecture of Sheki Khans' Palace, and finally get a taste of the local shopping with Aliovsat Sweets House. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 28th (Wed): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of Kish, admire the striking features of Winter Palace, then take in the dramatic scenery at Ilisu Waterfall, and finally experience rural life at Bio Garden.

A Young Spirit Located in an Ancient Land

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
On the 29th (Thu), explore the wealth of natural beauty at Lake Goygol. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 30th (Fri): take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. John's Church, contemplate the waterfront views at Maralgol lake, and then browse the different shops at Ganja Mall.
