The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum. On the 15th (Tue), pause for some photo ops at Sculpture Girl on Bench, see the interesting displays at Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, then don't miss a visit to Flame Towers, and finally examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center. Keep things going the next day: stroll the grounds of Alley of Martyrs, then make a trip to Baku Boulevard, and then contemplate the long history of Baku Old City.

If you are flying in from Romania, the closest major aiport is Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 31°C in September, and nighttime lows around 22°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
