Gobustan — 2 nights

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Gobustan is known for museums, sightseeing, and historic sites. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: examine the collection at Gobustan State Reserve, don't miss a visit to Mud Volcanoes, and contemplate the long history of Diri Baba Mausoleum.

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Ganja Mall and Javad Khan Street. There's lots more to do: take a peaceful walk through Lake Goygol, identify plant and animal life at Maralgol lake, pause for some serene contemplation at Ganja State Puppet Theatre, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Shah Abbas Mosque.
