The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds
A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.Yashil (Green) Bazaar has been added to your itinerary. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Baku: Yeddi Gumbaz Mausoleum (in Shamakhi), Masazir Lake (in Masazir) and Gobustan (Gobustan State Reserve, Mud Volcanoes, &more). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Baku Old City, examine the collection at Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, take in the local highlights with Walking tours, and explore the different monuments and memorials at Alley of Martyrs.
For reviews, where to stay, photos, and other tourist information, you can read our Baku travel route planner.
