The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds
A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.Step out of Baku to go to Gobustan and see Gobustan State Reserve, which is approximately 1h 5 min away. There's lots more to do: examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, explore the ancient world of Ateshgah Fire Temple, don't miss a visit to Fountains Square, and take in the pleasant sights at Baku Boulevard.
