The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Step out of Baku to go to Gobustan and see Gobustan State Reserve, which is approximately 1h 5 min away. There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Baku Old City, see the interesting displays at Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, explore the different monuments and memorials at Alley of Martyrs, and explore the ancient world of Ateshgah Fire Temple.
