A Young Spirit Located in an Ancient Land

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
Spend the 2nd (Wed) exploring at Lake Goygol. There's still lots to do: explore the activities along Maralgol lake, stroll around Khan's Garden, take in the spiritual surroundings of Shah Abbas Mosque, and make a trip to Nizami Ganjavi Mausoleum.

Gobustan

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Wed): examine the collection at Gobustan State Reserve. Keep things going the next day: contemplate the long history of Diri Baba Mausoleum and then make a trip to Mud Volcanoes.
