A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.

Start off your visit on the 21st (Thu): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of Kish, then make a trip to Sheki Fortress, then contemplate the long history of Sheki Khans' Palace, and finally admire the landmark architecture of Winter Palace. On the next day, relax in the rural setting at Bio Garden, then admire the masterpieces at Museum of Folk and Applied Arts, and then admire the sheer force of Ilisu Waterfall.
