Baku
A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Baku: Candy Cane Mountains (in Khizi), Gobustan (Diri Baba Mausoleum, Gobustan State Reserve, &more) and Shamakhi (Yeddi Gumbaz Mausoleum & Juma Mosque). Spend the 4th (Wed) exploring nature at Absheron National Park. There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Baku Old City, squeeze the most out of the city with City Tours, take in panoramic vistas at Flame Towers, and surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour.

To see other places to visit, where to stay, maps, and tourist information, read our Baku online day trip planner.

The Route module can give you travel options from your home to Baku. In February, daily temperatures in Baku can reach °C, while at night they dip to °C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Fri) early enough to drive back home.
