A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.Step out of Baku to go to Gobustan and see Gobustan State Reserve, which is approximately 1h 5 min away. There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at Baku Old City, see the interesting displays at Heydar Aliyev Center, tour the pleasant surroundings at Philharmonic Park, and stroll around Highland Park.
