A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
On the 31st (Mon), learn more about the world around you at Gobustan State Reserve and then make a trip to Flame Towers. Here are some ideas for day two: steep yourself in history at Baku Old City, then examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, and then delve into the distant past at Ateshgah Fire Temple.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates to Baku is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive. Plan for a bit cooler temperatures traveling from Dubai in August, with highs in Baku at 38°C and lows at 26°C. On the 2nd (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Gabala.
