The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
For shopping fun, head to Ali Shamsi Studio or Nizami Street/Torgovaya. Baku Old City and Juma Mosque will appeal to history buffs. When in Baku, make a side trip to see Gobustan State Reserve in Gobustan, approximately Gobustan away. Next up on the itinerary: take in the spiritual surroundings of Heydar Mosque, do a tasting at Fireland Vineyards, admire the local landmark of Philharmonic Park, and tee off at Dreamland Golf Club.

For reviews, where to stay, other places to visit, and other tourist information, you can read our Baku tour itinerary builder.

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major aiport is Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 19°C in April, and nighttime lows around 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Wed) to allow time to travel back home.
