Baku is known for sightseeing, historic sites, and museums. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, contemplate the long history of Baku Old City, make a trip to Yanardag, and take in panoramic vistas at Flame Towers.

Moscow, Russia to Baku is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. The time zone changes from Moscow Standard Time (MSK) to Azerbaijan Standard Time (AZT), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Traveling from Moscow in December, expect Baku to be a bit warmer, temps between 10°C and 3°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Gobustan.

Gobustan — 1 night

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Start off your visit on the 30th (Thu): make a trip to Mud Volcanoes and then learn more about the world around you at Gobustan State Reserve.

Drive from Baku to Gobustan in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train. December in Gobustan sees daily highs of 10°C and lows of 3°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
