The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Change things up with a short trip to Gobustan State Reserve in Gobustan (about 1h 5 min away). Next up on the itinerary: steep yourself in history at Baku Old City, make a trip to Flame Towers, see the interesting displays at Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, and take in the pleasant sights at Baku Boulevard.

For more things to do and other tourist information, refer to the Baku trip maker.

Expect a daytime high around 9°C in February, and nighttime lows around 3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Thu) to allow time to travel back home.

Land of Fire
A holiday in Azerbaijan allows intrepid travelers to discover a history-steeped country sitting at the crossroads of Southeastern Europe and Southwest Asia, an area once controlled by a succession of ancient empires. With its dual Eurasian character, Azerbaijan remains a highly intriguing destination, with tourism one of the top contributors to the country's booming economy. Many begin their tour of Azerbaijan in World Heritage-listed Baku, a cosmopolitan city boasting innovative architecture and a well-preserved historic core. A short drive out of this thriving capital, you can explore timeless villages surrounded by thick orchards and flanked by the majestic Caucasus Mountains.
