The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Fortress Walls of Icheri Sheher and Museum of Miniature Books. Bring the kids along to Philharmonic Park and National Flag Square. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Baku: Gobustan (Gobustan State Reserve & Mud Volcanoes). There's lots more to do: appreciate the history behind Vahid Monument, shop like a local with Nizami Street/Torgovaya, appreciate the extensive heritage of Oil Boom Architecture in Downtown Baku, and see the interesting displays at Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.
