The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Explore Baku's surroundings by going to Gobustan (Gobustan State Reserve & Mud Volcanoes). There's lots more to do: go for a walk through Baku Boulevard, delve into the distant past at Ateshgah Fire Temple, examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Yanardag.

To see other places to visit, more things to do, where to stay, and tourist information, use the Baku trip planner.

If you are flying in from Israel, the closest major aiport is Heydar Aliyev International Airport. In September in Baku, expect temperatures between 31°C during the day and 22°C at night.
