The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Baku Old City and Palace of the Shirvanshahs will appeal to history buffs. Get a sense of the local culture at Heydar Aliyev Center and Gobustan State Reserve. Step out of Baku to go to Masazir and see Masazir Lake, which is approximately 30 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: take in the pleasant sights at Baku Boulevard, take in panoramic vistas at Maiden Tower, explore the ancient world of Ateshgah Fire Temple, and don't miss a visit to Fountains Square.
