The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Attractions like Baku Old City and Heydar Aliyev Center make great kid-friendly stops. Get out of town with these interesting Baku side-trips: Gobustan State Reserve (in Gobustan) and Dalga Beach Aquapark Resort (in Mardakan). There's still lots to do: squeeze the most out of the city with City Tours, delve into the distant past at Ateshgah Fire Temple, explore the historical opulence of Palace of the Shirvanshahs, and take an in-depth tour of National Museum of History of Azerbaijan.

If you are flying in from Bahrain, the closest major aiport is Heydar Aliyev International Airport. In February, daily temperatures in Baku can reach 9°C, while at night they dip to 3°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Wed) so you can travel back home.
