Gobustan — 1 night

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Kick off your visit on the 15th (Sun): steep yourself in history at Diri Baba Mausoleum and then don't miss a visit to Mud Volcanoes.

Mumbai, India to Gobustan is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. The time zone difference moving from India Standard Time to Azerbaijan Standard Time is minus 1.5 hours. Traveling from Mumbai in March, expect Gobustan to be cooler, temps between 13°C and 5°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Sun) early enough to drive to Gabala.

Drive from Gobustan to Gabala in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and taxi. March in Gabala sees daily highs of 15°C and lows of 3°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Mon) to allow time to drive to Baku.
