A Young Spirit Located in an Ancient Land

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
Kick off your visit on the 22nd (Mon): take a peaceful walk through Lake Goygol. Keep things going the next day: pause for some serene contemplation at St. John's Church, look for all kinds of wild species at Maralgol lake, and then walk around Heydar Aliyev Park.

You can take a train from Gobustan to Ganja in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In March, daytime highs in Ganja are 16°C, while nighttime lows are 5°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Tue) early enough to travel to Baku.

The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Dedicate the 25th (Thu) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's lots more to do: contemplate the long history of Baku Old City, admire the striking features of Martyrs' Mosque, see the interesting displays at Heydar Aliyev Center, and take in panoramic vistas at Flame Towers.
