The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
You'll explore and learn at Heydar Aliyev Center and National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature. Gobustan State Reserve and Heydar Mosque are good opportunities to explore the local culture. There's still lots to do: play a few rounds at Dreamland Golf Club, contemplate the long history of Baku Old City, get a taste of the local shopping with Nizami Street/Torgovaya, and take an in-depth tour of National Museum of History of Azerbaijan.

For photos, reviews, ratings, and other tourist information, you can read our Baku trip itinerary planning site.

If you are flying in from Italy, the closest major aiport is Heydar Aliyev International Airport. In September, daytime highs in Baku are 31°C, while nighttime lows are 22°C.
