The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Take a break from the city and head to Gobustan State Reserve and Yanardag. Let the collections at Heydar Aliyev Center and National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature capture your imagination. Step out of Baku with an excursion to Mud Volcanoes in Gobustan--about 1h 25 min away. There's lots more to do: don't miss a visit to Baku Old City, take an in-depth tour of National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, go for a walk through Baku Boulevard, and explore the ancient world of Ateshgah Fire Temple.

If you are flying in from Egypt, the closest major aiport is Heydar Aliyev International Airport. In July, daily temperatures in Baku can reach 36°C, while at night they dip to 26°C.
