A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Baku: Masazir Lake (in Masazir), Khizi (Mikayil Mushfig House Museum & Candy Cane Mountains) and Mardakan (Mardakan Arboretum & Mardakan Fortress). Dedicate the 22nd (Sat) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. Findon, UK to Baku is an approximately 12-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and flight. The time zone changes from Greenwich Mean Time to Azerbaijan Standard Time, which is usually a 4 hour difference. Traveling from Findon in May, expect Baku to be somewhat warmer, temps between 28°C and 17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Tue) so you can drive to Gusar.

Gobustan

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.

Azerbaijan's former capital surrounded by fine countryside and packed with cultural heritage, Shamakhi is one of Azerbaijan’s most historic cities and the birthplace of legendary Azerbaijani poets Sabir and Nesimi.
