Prepare for colder weather when traveling from Dubai in April: high temperatures in Baku hover around 19°C and lows are around 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Tue) early enough to drive to Gobustan.

Gobustan — 1 night

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
On the 4th (Wed), get a new perspective on nature at Gobustan State Reserve and then don't miss a visit to Mud Volcanoes.

Traveling by car from Baku to Gobustan takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train. Expect a daytime high around 28°C in May, and nighttime lows around 17°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 4th (Wed) so you can catch the flight back home.
