Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Kick off your visit on the 17th (Fri): steep yourself in history at Diri Baba Mausoleum. On the 18th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: don't miss a visit to Mud Volcanoes and then get a new perspective on nature at Gobustan State Reserve.

Doha, Qatar to Gobustan is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive. The time zone difference moving from Arabian Standard Time to Azerbaijan Standard Time is 1 hour. While traveling from Doha, expect cooler days and little chillier nights in Gobustan, ranging from highs of 10°C to lows of 3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Sat) early enough to drive to Baku.
