The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Step out of Baku to go to Gobustan and see Gobustan State Reserve, which is approximately 1h 5 min away. There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at Baku Old City, examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, go for a walk through Baku Boulevard, and make a trip to Flame Towers.

Muscat, Oman to Baku is an approximately 9-hour flight. Traveling from Muscat in January, expect Baku to be much colder, temps between 8°C and 2°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
