Sheki is Azerbaijan’s true travel gem, a small city off the forested slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains rich in Silk Road history and renowned for its fascinating architecture, food, and friendly residents.
On the 2nd (Tue), don't miss a visit to Sheki Fortress, then admire the landmark architecture of Sheki Khans' Palace, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Kish.

Traveling by car from Baku to Sheki takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and taxi; or take a train. In August, plan for daily highs up to 91°F, and evening lows to 70°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Tue) early enough to go by car to Ganja.

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.

You can drive from Sheki to Ganja in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train. In August in Ganja, expect temperatures between 92°F during the day and 71°F at night. You'll set off for home on the 3rd (Wed).
