A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Baku Boulevard and Heydar Aliyev Center. There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Baku Old City, enjoy breathtaking views from Maiden Tower, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Heydar Mosque, and shop like a local with Nizami Street/Torgovaya.

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
On the 24th (Sun), make a trip to Diri Baba Mausoleum.

You can drive from Baku to Gobustan in 1.5 hours. Another option is to take a train. In October, daily temperatures in Gobustan can reach 21°C, while at night they dip to 14°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Tue) early enough to drive to Gabala.

If you're fed up of the concrete jungle, take a trip to Gabala for the perfect getaway.
Start off your visit on the 26th (Tue): have some family-friendly fun at Gabala Shooting Club and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Tufandag Winter Summer Resort.

Traveling by car from Gobustan to Gabala takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and taxi. Traveling from Gobustan in October, expect slightly colder with lows of 10°C in Gabala. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Wed) early enough to drive to Sheki.

Sheki is Azerbaijan’s true travel gem, a small city off the forested slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains rich in Silk Road history and renowned for its fascinating architecture, food, and friendly residents.
Kick off your visit on the 27th (Wed): don't miss a visit to Sheki Fortress and then browse the exhibits of Sheki Khans' Palace.
