The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Baku: Gobustan (Gobustan State Reserve & Mud Volcanoes). There's much more to do: examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, make a trip to Yanardag, stroll the grounds of Alley of Martyrs, and enjoy breathtaking views from Flame Towers.

For where to stay, more things to do, traveler tips, and more tourist information, refer to the Baku trip itinerary website.

If you are flying in from Romania, the closest major aiport is Heydar Aliyev International Airport. In August, daily temperatures in Baku can reach 38°C, while at night they dip to 26°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
