The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Explore Baku's surroundings by going to Gobustan (Mud Volcanoes & Gobustan State Reserve). There's lots more to do: examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Heydar Mosque, explore the striking landscape at Yanardag, and make a trip to Fountains Square.

If you are flying in from Romania, the closest major aiport is Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 31°C in September, and nighttime lows around 22°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
